The Doc Savage books are great fun...nonsense, pulpy and fun. I first came across the character in a British Marvel comic, then soon afterward saw the 70s film version on tv. It's enjoyable too, but not necessarily in a good way! I hope they do make a movie soon, it would be nice to see them do the character justice

I was actually surprised recently to find out that Doc Savage has a long comics publishing history, particularly over the past 25 years or so on and off, with a new series just starting this month. I had assumed that he was something of a forgotten character, but it seems not... Cue idea for thread of its own...
