The original Captain Britain Weekly lasted 39 issues during 1976/1977. The first 23 issues were half in full colour/half b&w printed with newsprint covers, the same quality paper as the interior pages. As of issue 24, the title reverted to the then-typical, cheaper to produce, glossy-covered b&w style of the other Marvel UK titles. After cancellation with issue 39, the title merged with Super Spider-Man issue 231.

I didn't get too many of these issues, but enjoyed the ones I did.

One of them had an FF back-up strip and a Nick Fury strip, if memory serves me right.

Yes, that was the line-up for the first 20 or so issues, Stephen. It was the Jim Steranko run of Nick Fury which featured here, and we'll have a closer look at it over the next few months. Fury was replaced by a Marvel Team-Up strip for a short period, in the last few colour issues, then both strips shared appeared together (with fewer pages per strip each week) after the title got extra pages and a glossy cover.

And I can't recommend The Black Knight/Captain Britain team-up from Hulk Comic, which was reprinted in graphic novel format recently, highly enough...it's excellent stuff! If you've never read it, check it out!
