I would say that, growing up, 80% of my purchases were US comics/UK reprints of US comics and 20% of my purchases were British comics such as Action, Eagle, Warlord, Victor, etc.
There were some really gritty stories in publications like Warlord and Victor. I also recall a lot of interesting sports stories in Victor.
