Like I said in the topic about Creepy Worlds, the tales in this book were disturbing and there weren't always happy endings.
I can vaguely recall a cover featuring a story which may have been called "The Painting". It was a creepy story about a guy who painted a face, which then began talking to him!

Most of the Alan Class range had similar types of stories, which were pretty much interchangeable between all the titles. They generally reprinted all those mystery, sci-fi and suspense stories from numerous US comics companies and when they ran out of material, they just printed them all over again. They even used the same cover on more than one occasion!
Look for more titles from the range on this board soon.

What I found interesting about some of the stories was how there weren't any good guys in the tales. For instance, you'd have a story where a man had meddled with nature - with ghastly consequences - and someone or something more villainous would ensure the main character got his comeuppance.
That painting story I remember featured a pretty unlikeable character. As nasty as the painting was when it came to life, it was hard to sympathize with the main character.
