I did eventually buy the next book in the series, but as you mention there's very little available new. I had to buy second hand, the price wasn't too bad, about what you'd pay for a new TPB. Sadly it wasn't anywhere near as good as Last Son and the next book in the series was also out of print and cost a fortune, so I stopped there.

Having a quick glance at what I've compiled so far, it seems as if maybe only 35-40% of Superman comics published between late 1986 (the reboot) and the Death Of Superman saga in 1992 have actually been reprinted as Graphic Novels, in TPB format. And beyond that, even less...Of course I could still be missing some Graphic Novel titles to cross-reference, and I haven't yet taken the 4th regular Superman title (Superman:The Man Of Steel) into account- it only began publication in 1991.
And a significant portion of that 35-40% was in books which are now out of print, and can only be bought second hand. Some pretty cheap, others very expensive...perhaps it's about time DC revisited this period in their history with a view to reprinting it in its entirety? A series of Pocket Books in the style of those Marvel ones published by Panini would be perfect...very unlikely though, as they've since rewritten their history and they'll probably just want to ignore all this old stuff and push the modern product instead.

You'd have thought, given some of the prices paid for the secondhand stuff, that reprinting those stories would be akin to printing money. Be a shame if they didn't just because of a reboot, they'd be cutting their noses off to spite their face, but as we know comic companies don't always behave in the most logical ways.
